We’re living in challenging times that call for us to be more robust, healthier, and more resilient towards our lives. While all of our lifestyles are immensely changing, it becomes highly essential to take care of our health for two significant reasons – to make ourselves adaptable to the shifts in our routines and increase our immunity against CoronaVirus. Some of the 5 ways through which you can stay healthy during the pandemic are:

  1. Complete your Servings

By servings, we mean the number of portions you are going to consume a specific food group. WHO recommends you to eat two to three servings of vegetables, three to four servings for fruits, 180 grams of carbohydrates, two ounces of protein, and a glass or two of dairy if you are not lactose intolerant. The key is to eat a balanced meal that has maximum food groups to ensure you have optimum nutrients through your meals.

  1. Stay Hydrated

Staying hydrated is one of the most important things to do for maintaining your health while staying at home. You might have thought that since you’re not out and about, your body doesn’t get dehydrated, but the case is different here. Air conditioning deprives the body of moisture, which can result in dehydration, so drinking about two to three liters of water a day should be your priority.

  1. Do Yoga and Meditation 

In these times of stress, every one of us has anxiety, which we need to control to maintain better health. Making sure that our mental health stays in its best form should be one of our top priorities is making sure that we stay sane at home. Breathing and relaxation techniques can help you stay grounded and keep your body free from tension.

  1. Make a Workout Routine and Follow 

Hitting the gym is not possible these days, but it is not an excuse to give up on your workout routine. Instead, make one at your home and specify a place where you can do your workout. Get an online subscription or watch online videos and follow the regime strictly. Making sure your body keeps moving and keeping the right fitness level is one of the most important things while you stay at home during Covid-19.

  1. Limit Your Exposure to Screens

Whether you are watching TV or are playing games on your mobile phones, you should set a limit of exposure to the screens. Not only are these screens damaging to the eyes and cause you a headache, but also they will increase your stress levels by bombarding you with information. You mustn’t let the number of cases of the disease and the mortality rate consume your mental health. While staying updated is important, getting too much information is destructive. Moreover, if you experience elevated anxiety and stress while using social media or watching the news, it’s time you should disconnect from it.
