Nutrition & Health
Various foods or diets have different Nutrition & Health values. They can be a topic of serious contention now a day. Most people seem to have an opinion on what we should eat or what we should exclude from our diets. People will have different reasons for consuming or not consuming several foods. And frequently, these people fall victim to ridiculous rules of foods & Nutrition that have been sustained over time like old wives’ tales.
Today I am going to discuss “9 Ridiculous Rules about Nutrition & Health” and also tell the rules are weird, but there are some realities behind them.
Below are the weird myths about different foods Nutrition & health values;
1. Consuming “Vitamin C” Supplements Can Prevent Cold
Vitamin C is also famous with ascorbic acid or ascorbate; it is a vitamin present in different foods and sold in different markets as dietary supplements. There are many health benefits of this potential vitamin-like we use to prevent or even treat scurvy.
It is an essential nutrient involved in enzymatic production of different neurotransmitters and tissue repair. But there is a myth regarding its supplements that they can prevent cold, that’s why I placed it at the top one position.
Consuming a vitamin C supplement is unlikely to stop cold symptoms. However, it can make a cold less severe and also reduces its duration. It is an essential nutrient in the diet so, instead of using supplements, we switch to vitamin C rich food like citrus fruits, peppers, dark leafy greens, strawberries, and many more.
2. Egg’s White Part Is Healthier than Egg Yolk
Eggs have high Nutrition & Health value. If we compare egg whites to egg yolk, we come to the point that egg whites are preferred or better option as their usage does not increase the level of bad cholesterol (LDL) that is a leading risk factor for heart or cardiovascular disease. It is something that we can experience eating a whole egg.
It is because the yolk is where unhealthy fats and cholesterol are present. You will often hear that its yolk part includes various proper nutrients like choline, vitamin D, and lutein pigment, but it’s quite misleading. It is true that egg yolk contains them but in tiny quantities. Therefore, the cons of consuming egg yolk are higher than execrated pros.
3. Vegan Diet Is Healthier than Omnivores Diet
A plethora of study shows that vegetarian or vegan diets are healthier than an omnivore diet and have high Nutrition & Health benefits. They can reduce heart disorder, type-2 diabetes, cancer, and also tend to leaner.
There is developing consensus among health experts that we should aim to adopt a more plant-based diet, including vegetables, fruits, whole grains, nuts, seeds, and beans while avoiding processed foods.
The plant-based diet is the only one that proven to reverse heart problems that is the leading cause of death in the whole world. There are environmental or ethical reasons to consume more plants.
4. Eating Carrots Can Improve Your Eyesight
Carrots are very nutritious vegetables and also very beneficial for us in several ways. We can eat them in raw or even in cooked form. They are an excellent addition in your regular salad, and you will experience a wonderful feeling after consuming them.
Carrots are loaded with an orange pigment named as beta carotene. Human body changes to vitamin A. This vitamin A is crucial for eye health, but consuming more than the required value will not improve eyesight.
5. Frozen Fruits & Vegetables are Less Nutritious than Fresh One
People often ask which is healthier raw or cooked, frozen or fresh, when it comes to vegetables and fruits. The ideal answer is which way you will consume them.
There are different nutrients that become inactivate when frozen, and a few nutrients that are disrupted when cooked, but all these details pale comparatively to the plenty of health benefits gained by only eating more fruits and vegetables.
6. Eating At Night Cause Weight Gain
Again, I tell you what we eat is more significant than when we eat. We often blame eating at night for our weight gain, but this abrupt changes in weight are likely more likely to do what we are eating as we like to unhealthy, high-calorie foods late at night ( cookies, ice creams, & buttery popcorns).
There may be a metabolic advantage to extending the overnight fast. Some studies recommend that a longer fast may aid lower blood pressure, weight loss & insulin sensitivity.
7. Lavender as Vibrational Medicine for Sexual Vitality
Lavender is a queen of all real and has excellent Nutrition & Health value. There are plenty of health benefits associated with lavender, like relieving stress, focused sleep, and improving the immune system. In aromatherapy, it is one of the essential oil. So, no doubt it’s vital, but is it true that lavender is working to improve our sex life.
Surprising health experts prove that along with numerous health benefits, it is also healthy for boosting our sexual stamina. In many cases, sexual expression becomes unresponsive, cold &uninhibited. The woman’s soul can no longer feel her part and infuse it with a lot of love. Lavender flower essence works for the sexually deprived females to reclaim their sexuality.
Lavender flowers encourage them to these soul forces with authenticity & vitality. It helps thousands of females who have been sexually traumatized. It is also beneficial for males who need to develop a close relationship with feminine warmth & positive sexuality.
8. Carnivore Diet is Beneficial for Weight Loss
Carnivore Diet is getting its repo as a plant-free diet. It is ideal for the people who crave animal products like eggs, red meat, and fatty fish. Because of its hugely restrictive nature, this diet has been gaining a lot of attention recently. There are plenty of Facebook groups, Instagram, Reddit forums with multiple members, thousands of videos, and a lot of articles in podcasts and mainstream media that are talking about the carnivore diet.
But I don’t question its Nutrition & Health benefits because we all know that animal foods are primary protein source. The fact that it can be beneficial for weight loss is profoundly weird. But according to dietary experts’ rule, it is an indisputable fact.
Because protein and fat are filling, it is normal for carnivore diet users to eat lesser calories naturally and even enhance the body ketosis process.
9. Balut Egg is Weird to Eat but Healthy
The Nutrition & health value of this weird egg is high. Balut eggs are fertilized duck eggs that involve not only a yolk but also a semi-grown embryo. This growing duck embryo may be boiled alive or eaten in the shell. It is tasty, and its taste is not different from a healthy chicken egg except the creamy texture of the balut egg, which makes it surprisingly amazing in flavor or it has lower sulfur content.
Balut eggs are rich sources of protein or calcium throughout Southeast Asia. They’re rich with vitamin C and beta carotene, both of which are potent antioxidants. Therefore overall, this egg is very beneficial to consume. But due its weird look and the feeling like you are eating a dead baby duckling, I added it into 9th ridiculous rule.
